OK, here is our first game report being played in Cleveland, OH. Day 1 was played on 02/24/02. The name came from me selling my soul to finally
get a game going. A listing of the rules was posted earlier. If anyone wants a list, email me and I will send you a copy.

J/F 1936

Germany decides to gear-up.
Italy strengthens its political stature, as does Japan and Russia. (all 0g)
CW proposes a level 1 treaty with France and France excepts.
Political turn ends.

Nothing going on in the military phase.

Builds:
Russia: Arm
France: INF and CONV
CW: ARM and INF (illegal but we let it slide)
Italy: ARM, Pilot, Land 2
Germany: Synth, HQ (I)
Japan: 2 INF, 2 pilots, Land 2, Nav 3 (again illegal but we let it slide)

M/A 1936

Italy coups Spain (get the best roll-3 dice) and moves Spain 1 hex towards Fascist circle from the center (11 point move) Franco?
Who needs Franco!
Germany occupys the Rhineland (amist groans from France! It seams that France wanted to do this!)
Russia shoots some of its best troops (HQ (A), 5-4, 5-3, 4-3 INF all on the boarder with Japan) No units left on the boarder with Japan.
Japan puts Tojo in power.
CW holds an election ?!?!?

Again, the military does some moving around but nothing special.

Builds:
Russia: HQ (I)
France: ARM and CONV
CW: INF
Italy: Nothing?
Germany: ARM, Cav, Gun, Supply, Sub (fd)
Japan: Nothing?

M/J 1936

Italy tries to coup Turkey but sends it into a civil war (rolled a 12)!
Italy controls the rebels, Russia controls the Gov. (Turkey was slowly moving towards communism)
Russia strengthens its political ties (again!) (0g)

Military:
60/40 split in Turkey favoring the Gov. Not a lot of troops to go around. Italy sends in an HQ (I) and Russia sends in a land 4 for support.
No attacks made but the Italian HQ and on Rebel unit are surrounded by three Gov forces onthe coast.

Builds:
Russia: Land 4
France: INF, Cav, CONV
CW: INF ( I think all the INFs have been Terr)
Italy: Nothing?
Germany: Pilot and a plane (unknow what type)
Japan: Nothing?

J/A 1936

Germany supports the Gov in Turkey!?!?!?!
Russia buys a secret unit for a minor country
Italy supports teh Rebels in Turkey
(Germany's play was designed to prevent Russia from sending in troops this turn)

Military:

Russia planes try to ground strike Italian HQ and rebel unit. Only the Rebel unit flips.
More movement with forces but no attacks. Italy sends in another ground unit (MOT I think) into Turkey.
Russia rails an INF to the far east.

Builds:
Russia: Pilot
France: Nothing?
CW: 2 Terr
Italy: Frogman
Germany: INF, Pilot, plane (unk)
Japan: Carrier (fd)

S/O 1936

Russia strengthens it's political ties (because I have no money!) (0g)
No other plays! (ouch!)

Military:
Gov forces corner an Italian MOT on the coast. Unit is ground struck and an attack is made at either +6 or +8. Final outcome was a -/- and
everyone is flipped. Well, I screwed up. The rebels get behind me and all three untis are now OOS. yikes! First attack is made on two units at +20,
both dead, no flips. Second attack is made on a single unit, even worse odds, Also dead. Only two Gov forces left in the capital with three Italian
units in country working for the rebels. ( I do not know if this happened this Turn or the last but this did happen)
(question, an Italian unit on the coast in Turkey has CONV in the eastern Med. Does that CONV provide supply to that unit?

Builds:
Russia: Nothing
France: Terr
CW: Terr, Pilot, Plane (unk)
Japan: Nothing
Italy: Nothing
Germany: INF, Pilot, Plane

N/D 1936

Germany makes an agreement with Rummania for another Oil.
No other plays (major ouch for US, we now have a Republican for a president! )

Military:
Last turn, the Russia Land 4 went home (I think I am a month off).
Well, I know what happened this turn. No forces left in Turkey. Russia got an HQ(I) and an Arm for reinforcements last turn and decided to go
after Rummania. Weather was good (except for Artic) so Russia invades Rummania.
Now, I had a deal with France that they would break the alliance with Rummania before this, but he was nto able to play it. Then, we agreed that
France would take the hit for not declaring war on me if we did this.
Weeelllll, I declared war on Rummania and France immediately declared war on me!! (no card for France's declariation, I owe the card)

Military went something like this:
Russian 4th Mech Army, 3rd Armor army, and the 1 Cav army did a lighting strike into Rummania towards the capital after a flight of TB-3s did a
wounderful job of ground striking (both Rummanian units in the capital were flipped). An invasion was done with the 8 Inf army off of the navies help
with their fine AMPH. The attempt to take the Rummania fleet did not work (the ships were suttled). An assalt was done with the above Mech,
Arm, and Cav units, with support from a flight of SB-2s and a flight of TB-3s (25 vs 5). Total was +8 and rolled a 17 (death to all). It was a glorious
 strike.
No fighting in Turkey, just rebels moving around. Gov forces cower in the capital, left to their own demise by the Russians.

Builds:
Japan: 2 pilots, ATR, Land

It was an interesting year. Spain is very close to fascist area from the coup. Turkey in a civil war. Rummania beaten and Russia and France are in
a shooting war.

J/F 1937

Germany gears up to level 3.
Russia tells Rummania that it is at war with them (hand delivered by the Russian 3rd Armored army)
Italy supports the rebels again.

Military:
Nothing but movement of troops. No attacks, Rebels start moving towards the capital. Italy brings in a Mech into Turkey.

Builds:
Italy CAV, Pilot, Land
Germany: Arm, Pilot, plane
Japan: Pilot, Plane

M/A 1937

Russia strengthens political ties (up to 32 bid points and -7 money!)
China gears up.
Italy supports the rebels (that is three cards played and the freebee)
Germany takes control of Austria

Military:
France moves some navy from the Med into the Atlantic (yawn!)
Rebels continue to move towards the capital in force Nothing else much going on.
Italy has at least four units in Turkey (HQ (I), INF, MOT, and a MECH)

Builds:
Italy: Arm
Germany: Arm, INF, Pilot, plane

Well, this was an interesting meeting. France and Russia are at war (France has called out the reserves Russia has not). Greece is in the first level
of the fascist. Poland is moving very close to democracy. Czech is stacked with France and Belgium is one hex away from CW. Netherlands is
moving towards communism!?!?!. Everything else is pretty much the same.
Russia is very poor and needs money. France and US both owe an election.
Germany is at PML 3 but needs 11 resources to be producing at max. I do not have all the builds for evey one. US has been building a plane, pilot
and a carrier (fd) and a sub (fd) plus a terr and a couple of Garr. China has been building a number of INF and Cav. Germany got a free INF and
MTN div with Austria. Turkey is done for but is still in the middle of the Political map. (It has been bouncing back and forth),

Turkey was embroiled in a civil war that was going no were fast (government forces lost 2 units in a failed attack and have retreated into the capital

with the last two units). Rebel scum have taken the rest of the country)

Rumania has died a painful death at the hands the Russians.  France lost PE and a bunch of negatives placed on other countries with alliances and is

not pleased with Russia (The war we thought was going on never happened.  It was easy to correct this)  Germany is also not pleased due the fact

that it was getting 2 oil from Rumania.  Oh well…

Italy has four units in Turkey helping the rebels.

May/June 1937

Political:

Russia plays IPO 2 for a factory in Poland

CW plays CW 2 gear up to PML 2

Italy plays IPO 8 on Turkey (shocker)

Japan plays 0g for 6 bid points

More Italian and Turkey units more towards the capital.

One government unit comes out of the capital to slow the units down.

No attacks

Builds:

Germany INF, pilot, plane, sub (fd)

Italy INF, Land3, pilot

Japan INF, pilot, NAV3

Russia nothing

July/August 1937

Political:

Russia plays 0g for 12 bid points

Japan plays IPO 4 on Mexico and starts a civil war in Mexico (great, 2 civil wars going on) Russia is supporting the government Germany, seeing

that France has 0 PE and owes an election from 1936, plays GE 8 and takens the sudenton land.

plays IPO 3 on Belgium

Italy plays 0g for 9 bid points

Military:

More units move towards capital.  Rebel forces miss a chance to kill a lone government unit outside the capital.  Unit goes back into the capital.

50/50 split in forces in Mexico.  2 units of the government attack a rebel unit at +4 and kill one unit and flip half the attackers 1 / 2 split.  Mexico City

Mil dies as well as the defender.  Lone unit starts to capture open cities and resources.

Builds:

Germany INF, Pilot, Plane, Sub (FU)

Italy INF

Japan INF

Sept./Oct 1937

Political:

US plays the 1936 election (0c)

Russia plays IPO 8 on turkey (!?!?!?!) (prevents it from being played on Turkey or Mexico this turn)

Japan plays JA 2

Military:

An Italian bomber with a 1 for a tac factor attacks the capital and flips one of the defenders.  4 Italian and 2 Turkey Rebels attack the capital with a

2 / 1 split, and both Rebel units died (cav and Istanbul Mil) and the Gov. loses the Mil.

Japan lands an INF in Mexico to help "stabilize" the region.  US goes nuts.

Military:

Storms everywere, slow movement and no attacks.

Builds:

Germany ?

Italy INF

Japan INF

I do not have the builds for the Democracies, but a lot of planes, pilots, and territories.  Also, US put a carrier and sub in the construction pool.  China

has built all land units up to and including the 1937 builds.  France has a div (AT I think), a bomber and a couple of fighters, plus territories.  One gov

and 2 rebels were built in Turkey (gov. only has 2 units left in the capital) and Mexico Gov has rebuild the MIL it lost in the last battle.  The Rebel

MIL can not be rebuilt because it lost the city it came from.

We stopped the night here.  The two civil wars going on are not going anywhere fast.  France is worthless in the political arena.  Germany is now

producing at 14 but CW is now at 18!?!?!.  CW is also very powerful politically with the demise of Czech.  Poland and Belgium are now stacked with

CW.  Hungary is stacked with Italy and Bulgaria is one hex away from GermanyGreece is one hex away from Germany.  A very interesting game.

I am a little surprised that Germany did not take the opportunity to go after France after killing Czech.  CW and France have only a level 1 treaty.

CW is going to be a problem for Germany in the end if he does not do something soon.  Russia has not built a unit in over a year but will be producing

at 10 after the next political play.  Turkey will be interesting, as Italy has had enough.  A final attack will be coming during the summer to decide the

fate of the country.  Mexico is going to be interesting if Japan starts to put more units into the country.  I can not wait to see how the US is going to

take this.

May/June 1938

Political:

Russia  RU2 going to PML 3 (paying 10 BPs for this upgrade) (Activated Turkey which is now 1 hex and 1 level away from France) +9 USE

Weather: DR9

Fascism:    Germany declares war on Poland!, German Arm (DAK) and INF attack INF in forest and everyone dies (extra loss due to location).  Other attacks go well.  Side note, NO German planes are in the area to assist with the attacks.  This had to be a spur of the moment attack since I do not see That Germany is set up well to support this attack.

Commies  do nothing much.

Demos:    France declares was on Germany (no card owed) to support the Polish Governement.  Both Germany and France call out the reserves.  And France does nothing else......

Round 2:

Weather: DR4

Fascism:    Germany gets some air power into place and tries to ground strike the Polish HQ.  A bomber and fighter are met by the long Polish fighter.  The Polish fighter shoots down the Germany fighter in 0/0 odds, pilot survives, Germany bomber is aborted.  Germany is getting really bad rolls, both onthe ground and in the air.

Commies: more unit movement

Demos:    More unit movement.  No attacks by France.  Polish units try to plug gaps in their lines with too few units.

Round 3:

Weather: DR7

(we had 2 re-rolls for initiative, Fascism won all three! Demos owe me one for this)

Fascism: German units are able to get around the Polish line with the reserves soming in and being reorg by German HQ.  Walk into an open Warsaw.

Only four Polish units are left that are not disorganized.  most are stuck in ZOC of the Germans.  Polish Destroyers and CONV are overrun and rebased into France.

Demos: Polish bomber, seeing the handwriting on the wall, flies into a neutral country, pilot gets interned for FranceFrance does nothing (again) but throws party for new additions to its navy!

Round 4:

Weather:

Fascism: Flipped, in clear hex Polish INF is crushed by Germany forces, including a MECH (ends up like a +18 total mods, +27 after die roll on the blitz table!)

Demos:  Polish units (INF x 2 and HQ) attack Warsaw and roll a 1/1, Killing a German 8-4 MOT and regaining Warsaw (this was like a 1-1 attack -2 or 3 on the dice, a rolled really well!

Commies: Watch the game

Round 5: (9 impulses and still going!)

Weather: DR6

Commie:Watching the game, having a Bud.......

Fascism: Attack Warsaw, Total +17 on the attack, rolls a 6, killing the brave Polish defenders.  No Polish units are able to attack Warsaw

Poland dies.....

Demos: join the Commies in having a Bud

GE (14 and 2 gas):   L2, Arm, INF, Cav,

Turkey:    MIL (Rebel)

RU (10):    INF, CAV

Sept/Oct 1938

Political:

CW does two picks, IPO 4 on Spain and starts a civil war (go figure).

CW controls the Rebel (nationalist AKA Franco) and the Germans control the Republic (OK, this is a tad weird....) 50/50 split on the forces Then plays IPO 8 on the Rebels (is this legel??, we played it as such).

Then ends the political phase (Japan and Italy are screeming bloody murder in the corner, one bid 10 the other 14 to play 2 options each, oh well)

Round 1

Weather: DR2

No combat, lots of units moving around the globe.  British fly two planes into Spain (F2 and L3) in support of the Rebels

Round 2

Weather: DR 4

No combat again! Even though we have 3 civil wars going on, it has turned into a sitzkreig in all three.  The Italians and Turkish rebels have the capital surrounded, but do not have anything (including the stones) to attack. The best they can get is 3:2, with a 60% chance for 2:1.  In Mexico, the Rebels have suffered one loss and have two Japanese units, including an HQ (I) supporting the Rebel scum.  They are pinned in the norhtwest corner of the country, with only two cities and two ports to their name.  But, A Japanese Mech is on the way!  No Russian units are in sight!

Round 3

Weather:

Italian volunteer bomber formation again attack the brave defenders in Ankara, and flipped a GAR but the MIl holds tuff! A Spanish TRS makes a run for the North See and picks up a German 7-4 INF.  Sensing a change to inflict pain and suffereing on its brothers, The Spanish Rebels send out two cruisers to intercept the TRS on its return.  The Spanish Gov sends two of its cruisers out and a navel battle ensues (3/3 on the search rolls)!

After the gunnery duel, all are aborted (no saving rolls on the damage control parties, must take after the Germans.)

Germans and French continue to glare each other over the French fortifications.

Round 4

Weather: DR10

French SUBs enter the Baltic, and fail to find the German CONV during the storm.

Turn ends.

Partisans activated in Africa (French):  Mauretania (no French units there, partisans control the capital, it becomes a free minor neutral country.

This is rejoicing in the streets for this bloodless sezure of power from the French when they were not looking.), and the same for Camaroon (see above).

Commentary:

A number of boring civil wars are going on.  no one strong enough to kill the other.  italy can not put any more into Turkey, Japan is starting to bring more into Mexico, and the Demos are supporting the Rebels in Spain.

We shall see what happens there.

Germany is getting a little frisky on the Russian front.  With Hungary on their side, and the lack of units on the Russian side could be a problem.

All talks with Germany have broken down and they have recalled their diplomats for "consultations" in Germany (Germany is no longer talking with me).  War is on the horizon.  The nice thing is that the US clock is ticking and France could be a very helpfull ally IF they get their but in gear and do SOMETHING!  Their PML is still at 1.  Turkey is 1 hex away and if the civil war ever ends there, they could be very helpfull.  If the civil war goes the other way, Russia is in even more deeper do-do.

I have no idea what Japan or Italy are doing.  Japan has not put down 1 CV or surface ship.  Italy is still at PML 1.  Most of the Italian units are in Turkey, which is fine for me.  And, the best Japanese land units are in Mexico or on there way.  Fine, sit there and rot, better on the US boarder then on the Russian boarder.
